Spray Dryer Absorber (Dual Fluid Nozzle and Rotary Atomizer)
with Baghouse
Spray Dryer Absorber (SDA) technology offers efficient HCl, SO2 and acid gas and heavy metal removal through absorption into a finely atomized aqueous mist of hydrated lime [Ca (OH)2]. As the mist passes through a proprietary inlet design to the bottom of the spray dryer absorber vessel, the flue gas is cooled while simultaneously evaporating the products of reaction into a fine particulate to be captured by the SPE-AMEREX pulse jet fabric filter. In addition to SO2 control, this cooling of the gas enhances condensation and mercury removal. All captured particulate and products of reaction are discharged from the bottom of the vessel and fabric filter hoppers as dry powder for convenient disposal. Dual fluid nozzle systems utilize compressed air to produce controlled slurry atomization with no moving parts.
Rotary atomizer systems utilize a mechanically driven rotating wheel operating at 10,000 to 14,000 rpm, discharging the slurry through ceramic lined orifices to produce the atomized mist. This spray dryer absorber system has the capability to spray high solid percentage slurries, permitting unused reagent to be recycled from the discharge to reduce reagent consumption. Ask SPE-AMEREX application experts for selection criteria for dual fluid or rotary atomizer SDA. Both technologies provide over 90% removal efficiencies for your application.
