Most heavy equipment engineered and built by SPE-AMEREX is designed to last for many years. However, time and operation degrade any mechanical equipment, even with the best preventative maintenance procedures. Sometimes the equipment must be replaced and other times a major overhaul will suffice, saving considerable time and cost. Whether it is a fabric filter, a spray dryer absorber, a dry scrubber, or any component part, our clients are welcome to ask for a comparison of costs between using available, serviceable components and a completely new piece of equipment.

Another scenario is damage to equipment due to forces of nature, explosion, human error or even sabotage. Again, the evaluation of rebuild/repair vs. new replacement comes in to play. As technology and regulations change, so does the need to keep existing equipment outfitted with the most current controls, timers, monitoring systems, feeders, gauges, valves and other critical parts. Reviewing the age and function of older parts may be performed at the same time as an audit/inspection. That overview may reveal a problem as simple as a door seal unsuited for current operating temperatures to an older timing board without a differential pressure cleaning module. And, if regulations change, the equipment may not be meeting required pressure drop or emissions levels, all of which may be addressed with improved filter media, better cleaning, or more accurate monitoring devices and sensors.
