Maintenance Services for Air Pollution Control Equipment
Many companies today prefer to leave air pollution control equipment maintenance and service to fully trained, professional service organizations. Typical services being outsourced today are:
- Bag change out
- Repairs and modification
- Blast cleaning and painting
- Diaphragm/solenoid replacement
- Timing board adjustments/replacement
- Addition of new equipment such as broken bag detectors and CEMS
- Blow pipe replacement
- Seal and gasket replacement
- Periodic audits/inspections
- Leak testing
- Pre-coating
- Tube sheet vacuuming and bag re-tensioning
- Periodic inspections to monitor the baghouse condition and performance vs. original
- Change outs to replace failed, worn, blinded, or under performing bags and related cleaning system parts.
The reasons for and value of periodic audits is fully documented in the section labeled Audits and Inspections. The audit is a look into the equipment by a trained professional and provides a status report for the equipment and its critical component parts.
The bag change out is normally dirty, difficult, hot work, under time constraints, in limited spaces. An experienced crew can change out as many as 800 10' bags in an 8 hour shift. For an inexperienced and unmotivated crew, an 800 bag change may require several days, with uncertain results, risk of injury and potential for damaged bags and improper start up. All of these worries can be eliminated by using a professional service team such as the SPE-AMEREX Parts and Services Group.
During a change out, the overall condition of the collector, its cleaning and evacuation systems and related parts are observed, and additional repairs or replacements are identified for either immediate or later repair. Identifying these problems and solutions is an integral part of a professional service team's activities during a change out or outage. At the end of the change out, bags can be leak tested and pre-coated, with services and required materials provided by the visiting service team.
Other repairs and replacements may be performed during a change out or separately during an outage or planned shutdown. Some repairs, replacements or modifications can also be performed when the equipment or collector is on-line. In either event, the goal of the SPE-AMEREX Service team is to minimize down time and cost while optimizing the performance of the equipment involved.
Specialized maintenance services are also available for Spray Dryer Absorbers (nozzles, pumps and valves), lime slakers, water treatment equipment, grit removal conveyors, dry scrubber components, ash handling systems and any related PLCís and monitoring equipment. For service on this type of equipment or for any major repairs involving welding, engineering, engineering drawing and special equipment such as mobile cranes, an SPE-AMEREX technician will visit your jobsite to assess the project and gather information prior to a formal quote being offered.
